The Inner Wheel Club of Wolverton
A Photo record of
Events from
year 2017 / 18
A full 12 months of images from editions of our monthly newsletters are shown here
covering the complete Inner Wheel year ( July to June )
JULY 2017
Busy July with a new President taking over ( Top right ) and a horticultural
gift to the retiring President (left).
Cheques were also presented to Macintyre to support their work in
Milton Keynes ( below) and an International group presentation to Jaf
Shah of ASTI to support that charity’s work with survivors of acid attacks
July also saw a walk and a visit to the
Wolverton ‘Secret Garden’ - a
landscaped area tucked away down
near the Grand Union Canal on land
that used to be part of the old railway
works. The two grey figures are
statues sitting on a bench.
We don’t have any August Photos when the monthly meeting featured a visit from our District
Chairman, but in September our walking enthusiasts did a walk around the village of Hanslope and
learned a lot about the vllage history. The Club has had an active couple of months but regretfully,
few photos
SEPTEMBER 2107
OCTOBER 2017 Visit to the Theatre Royal, Northampton with a tour of the back stage areas
From the ‘Front of House’ with the fine old
Theatre to the stage itself and then the
‘properties‘ and scenery building workshops
NOVEMBER 2017
Again, few photos to show you of the
November events. Several of our
members sang in choirs in the lead up
to Christmas, One of our members
prepared some artwork to go with a
peom for an entry to the International
Association conference competition in
2018.
DECEMBER 2017
December is a busy month for Inner Wheel with several events ( including our Christmas Lunch )
and the fund raising stall at Stony Stratford for the Christmas lights switch on and lantern parade
JANUARY 2018
Because of the uncertainty of the weather, our
usual monthly meeting was held at the
President’s home where we all enjoyed the
warming soups and yummy puds
FEBRUARY 2018
Several of our members
supported a Bedford Church
and their Candlemass Flower
Festival.
Knitted blankets are always
acceptable by the needy and
charities, so a group of
members spent a happy
afternoon sewing squares
together
MARCH 2018
At our March Meeting, members were invited to bring
along items for our speaker to talk about and value
March also brought the Inner Wheel Annual Conference,
this year at Bournemouth. 9 members attended travelling
down in style by executive minibus.
A very enjoyable three days.
Excellent speakers and the chance to meet up with old
friends from around the UK
APRIL 2018
The Children’s shoe sorting team sprang
into action again this month and 315 pairs
were checked, paired and packed ready to
go out to orphanages in Eastern Europe
MAY 2018
This month we held
a successful fashion
show at a local
community centre
raising a lot of
interest and some
useful funds
JUNE 2018
A group of our members also supported the neighbouring
Newport Pagnell Inner Wheel Club at their Strawberry Tea
June brings the end of the Inner Wheel year and we have a day out with our retiring
President.
This year we took President Barbara to Thenford House in Northamptonshire. Home of
Michael Heseldine. Lovely gardens and a chance for a social get together
At our June meeting we also arranged to handover the Presidency
to Carole Whyte for the new year
This abbreviared record of photos has been taken from the monthly editions of ‘Chat In’, the Wolverton
Club newsletter, which each member receives.
